Intent
Music is a universal language that captures emotions, thoughts and feelings through musical narratives. At Thornhill Primary School it is our vision to ensure we grow successful learners who can use music to help them reflect on their emotions allowing them to be safe and happy individuals. Our vision is to provide both enjoyable and engaging musical experiences that can inspire pupils to develop and grow.
Implementation
Through appreciation, composition, performance and reflection our children receive experiences that engage and inspire them to express their creativity in a variety of ways. We also encourage children to understand, listen and explore other cultures through music. Our teaching focuses on helping children to develop musical language, rhythm, tempo, dynamics and textures of music.
